Artichoke dip that is to die for :)

I have been making this delicious artichoke dip that is to die for.  I've served it during birthday parties, pot luck and dinner with friends.  Everyone just loves it, so I thought I'd share it with you.  I don't have any pictures, but trust me---it is yummy! So here is the recipe.

1 can of artichoke hearts
1 cup of mayonnaise
1 cup of shredded parmesan cheese
1 medium size onion

Prep:
chop onions in tiny squares
chop artichoke hearts
mix in the mayonnaise and the parmesan cheese
bake it for 20 minutes at 350 heat.

It is good with french or italian bread, crackers.  You can also serve on bowl bread?  It is one of those round bread and you take the inside out put the dip in the bread. Use the bread you took out for dipping.

hope you like it :)

Birthday at 40 :)

So I recently turned 40 years old.  I hear a lot of people say turning 40 is "when it starts".  But, I do wonder what "when it starts" really means. Is it the start when your bones starts to loose their density, when your breasts start to sag, when you start to get hot flashes, start of a mid-life crisis OR is it the start when everything starts to get better.  Is it the start when you get wiser, start to earn a lot of money, start to count your days to retirement......hmmm.  I would like to think of it as the latter.  Turning 40 isn't so bad.  I am just another year older.   So cheers to being 40 :)

Back to school and new additions

The kids are back to school!  This means I have more time to create, sew and everything else.  Although, it feels a little weird having the time to do all these without anyone demanding for your  attention.  Somehow I feel lonesome :(  But hey, I will get use to it. With that said.  I did nothing this morning but promote and fix my blog.   Check out my new additions to my shop.

See you on the next post

Addicted to VBALL

For the last few weeks, I have been to trying to get involved with beach volleyball. What a fun sport.  I haven't played volleyball in a loooooong time and I am a bit rusty.  I have always wanted to try beach volleyball and finally tried it during our vacation at Laguna Beach here in Southern California.  I bought myself a volleyball from a store right by the beach and casually played with a group who was nice enough to let me play.  As soon as we got home from our vacation I signed up with a group who meets casually on the week-end and can't wait to meet up.  Yesterday, I went to the beach did a pick-up game and gosh... i need get back to the swing of things.  My arms and legs are sore from hitting and running on the sand, but I will prevail!!!!

New finds!

I was checking out my activity feed on Etsy as I do about  gazillion times in a day and found this.  What a neat idea to make nursing pads more funky and modern.  I wish I had these when I was breast feeding instead of using those white ones you get from the drug store.  Who said you can't be fashionable while breast feeding.  Too late for me now, but for those of you who are thinking of having babies, check these nursing pads first before buying the boring white ones (at least that's my opinion).

Sacrifices

I signed up for craft show that is coming up in the next 2 weeks only to find out last night that can't make it.  I have been preparing for this show and am very much excited about it since I haven't vend in while.  The venue seems nice and I was looking forward to meeting fellow Etsians and San Diego artists.

My son's team is currently the number 1 team in the Rec. Basketball and they are having the playoffs on the same day.  My son has excel in this sport and continues to do so and I wouldn't miss this game for anything. It is very important to him and myself to be there.

Someone stated before ( I can't remember who) that "being a parent is to be selfless".  I totally agree to this comment. It saddens me that I wouldn't make to craft show, but I will sadden me most not to be with my son during this important event.  Have to sacrifice my needs at this time.

Back from vacation

Two weeks away from my usual environment ---- ahhh!  What a vacation.  No work, no taking the kids to extra curricular activities, no cooking, no laundry etc.  It was nice to see the family as always. The children running back and forth, swimming and eating all have been fun to be a part of. My father-in-law, on his 70th birthday celebration, he did not fail to feed us all.  Despite the scorching weather, he is in front of the grill or stove cooking up a storm.  I know he loves to cook, but I sometimes wonder if he ever gets tired doing it.  We also heard a new talk radio show in my father-in-law's truck called "Good Morning Nanny" show.  It was funny as hell!  Glad we were able to catch it because it was a only being broadcast that morning----LOL.  Not really--- this is  an inside joke that you had to be there to really laugh out loud :)  Nanny is my mother-in-law :)

NYC was great! Saw Lion King on broadway. It was a good show, but I still like Beauty and the Beast the most. Walked the streets of Manhattan on a 90 degree weather--fun, but I don't really care for the humidity.  This is something my husband and I don't miss about living in NY.

My parents were just in awe of my kids.  They're constantly watching them taking mental pictures of every moment spent as our time runs out and it's time to head back home.  My mom-- constantly cooking as if fatigue doesn't hit her.  I am thankful that they are still very agile and independent.

The time to head back came and here I am blogging again.  As my son said " Can we rewind and start the vacation all over again?"  LOL

Sharing heart felt moments

I came home from work yesterday and my husband started telling about his day with the kids.  Hiking, basketball practice for my little one and a pick-up basketball game for my eldest.  My eldest's coach for basketball was at the pick-up game chatting with husband and mentioned something that really touched my heart.  He said that during the draft day, every coach wanted my son on their team, however they didn't know his name.  Our coach remembered his number during the draft day and put that on his list. He told my husband that he was excited when he saw us during the first day of practice because he got what he wanted. I was so touched by this that it made me tear. The word proud is not enough to describe my emotions.  I do want to mention that the other team members are soooo amazing, as well. I am really impressed on how they have a handle of the sport; each having their own strength contributing to every game they play. Every game have been fun and some were very intense. I am not only proud of my son, but for the whole team. The emotional moment doesn't stop here.  As we were getting in the car to go out last night, my eldest assisted my youngest into his car seat.  My little one then kissed and hugged his brother and said, " I love you" and goes on to say, " he's my brother." Heart melter?   Oh gosh, my heart melted like chocolates :)  A mental picture that I will always remember.

Buttons

A proud mama I am

I have two boys an 8 and an 4 year old who keep me and my husband on our toes constantly.  I have to admit that the moments that they make you sooo proud out weights all the times when they don't listen.

Benjamin, my 8 year old, is such a natural athlete.  He is currently at a rec. basketball and every week I look forward to seeing him play. For me there's no single word to describe how good he plays. All I can say is that he is an amazing, amazing player. Of course I can say that because he is my son :).   People have actually noticed him play and have come up to us complimenting his skills.  Of course as a parent, compliments about him make my heart swell.  He has been called fast and scrappy. He also has the interest in soccer, swimming and breakdancing; all of which he loves to do.

Mateo is my 4 year old.  He enjoys dancing.  He is currently at a hip hop class for toddlers and it has been amazing to see him engage with other kids and actually follow very simple dance routines.  The first time he actually follow through with a dance routine was 2 weeks ago.  Mateo was elated to have been able to follow the teacher and seeing him accomplished that made me tear.

As parents we have our battles with our children and we choose the ones to tackle.  But, it only takes one action, one word, one moment from their part to make you proud of your children that marks the heart.

Link your blog

I have been following bloggers and noticed something.  I wanted to follow those who have followed me. However, for some I can't follow because they don't have their link set up when I click their picture. The only things that show are the links they are following.  So please set up your link to your blog so that people can follow you as well, once they have followed you.  Here is how:

1. Follow a blogger.
2. The box with your picture on it will show up with the "follow this blog".
3. Before you click "follow this blog", click to "more options" right next to the box.
4. Your profile will appear with your picture. Click on "add links".
5. Add the URL for your blog, websites etc. then click "add"
6. Once you "add" your links will show.
7. Click "follow" on the same page to follow the blogger on number 1 above.

This way people can find you and follow your blogs or other sites.  Hope this helps.

thanks for stopping by.

A new home for my blog

So, here I am on the blogger. I don't know why I didn't use this for my blog before, but glad that I tried it and liking it so far.  If you were a follower of mine before on my old blog, kindly follow me here instead if you wish.

Since I have left my old blog to dry, I have been focusing a lot on just designing and creating pretty much what I want. I am adding a little bit more on my etsy shop as I finished the items.  I don't remember who told me that I need to find my niche in order increase my sale on my shop, but I didn't really look into it until recently. I posted on a thread on my etsy teams on how to do this and I did get some suggestions that are very helpful.  One in particular that I wanted to share with you all.  It is a free 5 day e-course giving you instructions about social media. I am hoping that this will help increase traffic my shop. Check it out. If you go on their website, they also have other information in regards to becoming a successful  entrepreneur (did i spell that right? too lazy to do spell check:(

I have also started on Kaboodle.  I have to say I kind a like the "kaboodling". One of my list on kaboodle is on the side bar.  These are the items that i liked that have been discovered by other kaboodlers.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me and we will see what happens :)

thanks for the support!
